Testimonials received by Barton Consultancy Portland Weymouth Dorset

Royal Manor Theatre Portland

Barton Consultancy has been a valuable resource when it comes to seeking grants, funding or other potential income streams.  Rachel has worked tirelessly to assist us in applying for a lottery grant, as well as seeking-out other possible funding opportunities.  Thanks to her comprehensive knowledge on application processes, Rachel is well-versed in knowing what’s required in order to receive the best results.   Herr expertise has resulted in us receiving not only the full amount we applied for, but also opened doors to other opportunities, which we’re now working towards.  We would have no hesitation to use Rachel’s services again, and certainly intend to do so”.  Mike Deadman, Chairman, Royal Manor Theatre.

Rachel’s knowledge and expertise in fundraising helped us sift through the confusion of different funding streams. We had a variety of potential projects that required funding and Rachel helped us decided what areas we should focus on and would bring us the best results from funding applications.  Rachel helped by writing a successful bid for Awards for All and we have been able to run 4 courses to support families focussing on improving parent-teenager communication and family relationships in our local area.  This grant award was recognised by our local MP and  I wouldn’t hesitate to use Rachel again or recommend Rachel to other charities and organisations

South Dorset Community Sports Trust

“Our charity, South Dorset Community Sports Trust has been working with Rachel Barton for several years and as a result of her expertise in finding and submitting suitable, appropriate and well presented funding applications we have been able to provide additional community facilities which would otherwise not have been possible. Over the course of time Rachel’s grant successes have produced six figure outcomes and enabled us to build two extra fitness suites and open a new cafe. Not only has this given the community what has always been desired in the area but it has also made our business more sustainable and added to surpluses which have been reinvested in the business, very much a win/win scenario for all concerned”.

Cowden Care Farm (Community interest Company)

Due to local government cuts, Cowden Farm near Dorchester had to seriously shake-up the way we were operating the business; we had to change and move with the times:

We changed the business from limited to a community interest company.  This was so we could apply for funding from various available streams that can support community based projects.

However this was a massive challenge for me personally.  The funding applications I took an interest in were very time consuming and you had to have the ability to write the right answers to the questions and not get carried away.

My accountant recommended Rachel Barton to me, he spoke very highly of her and her capabilities he told me how successful she has been securing funding for several businesses and much larger companies.

I met Rachel a year ago since that time she has helped turn my specialist small rural business around.  We have gone from strength to strength and we continue to grow, not only is Rachel a Professional in what she does, she has given me the confidence and hope to continue with my business.

I would recommend Rachel to join your team every time; she is excellent in what she does and has a great sense of humour.

Muntsy’s Quiz

Having Rachel involved in supporting our business has resulted in our group members being able to set up new work place opportunities on the island as well as sustaining the existing existing ones. Rachel has been instrumental in accessing funding for our groups which means that they have been able to access appropriate work skills training, Personal Protective Equipment and clothing. In addition, the ability to travel from place to place in order to continue their work in the community, has been funded by others thanks to the hard work of Rachel.
